Rev. Joe Gaspar

Joe has worked with congregations in Hornepayne and Parry Sound. He was born in Portugal and raised as a Roman Catholic but found a home in the United Church in the 90s. He enjoys spiritual reading and is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and The Toronto Blue Jays!

Rev. Heather Power

The United Church is in Heather’s blood. Her mother was a United Church minister as well. She has worked with congregations in Cookstown-Thornton (outside of Barrie), Newmarket, Toronto, and Alliston. She loves live theatre, a good book, and opportunities to travel.

Neil Murray

Neil Murray is our Director of Music. He graduated from UWO in 1993 with an Honours Bachelor of Music Education. The following year, he studied chamber music at the Bordeaux Conservatory in France. Neil taught privately for 16 years, offering lessons on piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute and guitar. He has been involved in church work as a music director for over 20 years! Along with his work at Parkminster, Neil currently teaches K-8 music at a Montessori school.

Melanie Chisholm

Melanie Chisholm is the welcoming face of Parkminster as our Office Administrator. Melanie has worked in office administration for 30 years in different environments including transportation, media and the not-for-profit sector.

Debbie Siertsma

Debbie is a life-long member of the United Church of Canada and has had connections with PMUC since leading the YTCA group, which preceded TCOW, to Nicaragua in 2004.  Debbie has been a part of congregations in Bayfield, Mississauga and Stouffville before being able to settle in the Waterloo area. Debra Brown

Debra grew up in the United Church as a PK (Preacher’s Kid). After university, she served as a Youth Minister at a United Church in Mississauga. After having two children of her own, she started a career in youth services with various community organizations.  Currently, she is the Executive Director at the Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club.
